DAY ONE
All BioWare games have a special place in my heart, but none of them as much as Origins. This was the first BioWare game I ever played, and I have IT to thank for introducing me to one very amazing fandom!
I read/watched tonnes of reviews for Origins, and was really pleased by the whole choose-your-own-adventure side of things. Gone are the days when games with linear plotlines ruled my life! Being new to the BioWare gaming style I found myself thinking twice throughout the game based on all the decisions I made, once I spent 5 whole minutes analyzing each answer to what was said/asked of me.
With each character that came into the story, I found myself caring for every single one of them. (QUEEN ANORA YOU ARE MY IDOL!) Especially since I’d spent at least 3 hours a day with them, totalling 80+ hours by the time I finished. There were also times when certain members of my party would weigh me down with ‘peer pressure’ whenever I was making a certain decision.
Then, after finishing my first playthrough and watching my Warden’s story end the way it did…I found myself thinking I’d just finished the most emotionally exhausting video game in my collection. Dude, the last time a game made me cry THIS much was Shadow of the Colossus.
